COVID-19 At-Home Test Coverage through Express Scripts
In response to the Biden Administration’s requirement for insurance providers to cover the cost of at-home Over-the-Counter COVID-19 tests at $0 copay, TeamstersCare and Express Scripts have developed several options for our members and retirees with pharmacy coverage.
Retail Pharmacy Point of Sale:
Over-the-Counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests are available for $0 copay when members check out at an in-network pharmacy counter and present their Express Scripts ID card.
Home Delivery:
OTC COVID-19 tests are available for $0 copay when members log in to their account at www.express-scripts.com and click “Order At-Home COVID-19 Tests”.
Reimbursements for Purchases:
As of January 15, 2022, Express Scripts (ESI) will cover the cost of up to eight FDA-authorized rapid at-home COVID-19 tests per member per month for personal, diagnostic use. You may be reimbursed for up to $12 per at-home test (or $24 per 2-pack). You must submit a claim and a copy of your receipt in order to receive reimbursement, and you will need the NDC number or UPC code from the test kit that you purchased from any retail or online provider.
This coverage only applies to test kit purchases made on and after January 15, 2022.
Eligible & enrolled members and retirees with Express Scripts pharmacy coverage can submit an electronic direct claim online by following the instructions in the below guide. Alternatively, you may complete and return the Prescription Drug Reimbursement/Coordination of Benefits Claim Form, which is available on the TeamstersCare website under Forms & Documents/ Members/ Member Forms or accessible via the link below.
