More overdoses are caused by prescription drugs than illegal drugs.
That’s why…For the health and safety of our members, TeamstersCare has contracted with the Express Scripts Opioid Prescription Drug Program.
What’s involved? In addition to state and federal regulations on the dispensing of opioid medications, Express Scripts has guidelines to help protect our members. There are limitations on days’ supply, prior authorizations are required for certain opioid medications, and there are daily dose limits across all opioids taken by a patient. Express Scripts also engages specially trained pharmacists who have expertise in assisting patients with their opioid medications.
