Did you know you should talk to your doctor if your blood pressure is higher than 120/80?
Smoking Cessation
Did you know that the moment you quit smoking, the air around you immediately improves? That means it’s no longer harmful to those around you – such as your spouse and children (even your pets!).
When it’s time to quit, TeamstersCare can provide you with the support you need to succeed. First, we’ll help you develop a plan of action, which will include setting a start date, building a support system and determining if a nicotine replacement medication is right for you.
Success Tips
- If you have a partner or friend who smokes, ask them to quit with you. This support can make it easier for you both to quit successfully.
- With no long-term studies proving their safety, we recommend thinking twice before using e-cigarettes as a “safer” alternative to smoking. Instead, consider Chantix or Zyban, both of which are covered by your TeamstersCare benefit.
- Replacing cigarettes with a healthy alternative, such as a new hobby or exercise, can be a great way to keep your mind off smoking.
- The Employee Assistance Program is here to help! If you have questions or want support, contact our smoking cessation coaches at 1-800-851-8326.
